Summer Staples From My Closet

Summer is here! And lets be honest, who has the budget to purchase all the new trends the season brings?

The truth is, a few years back, who am I kidding, a few months back I would of gone and purchased a whole new wardrobe for the summer. But times have changed, currently I check what I have before purchasing a new outfit.

Have you ever gone shopping in your closet lol, I know it sounds crazy, but sometimes we forget what we have, or at least I do. This time I decided to check what i had in my closet before going shopping.

Here are the pieces I found in my closet that I will be using again this summer.

 1. White summer dress: This is seriously one of my “every year” summer staples.. You will see me wearing the same dress from last year (if I manage to fit in it of course). Zara, Forever,  and Lulus,  all have a similar version of this dress!

2. White pants: I love everything white during the summer. So you need a pair of white pants, chances are, you already have a pair. You can find some here & here. American Eagle and Levis are my favorite jean brands. They have a pretty good selection on their websites.

3. Straw bag: Straw bags have been around for a while and I feel like they are still in this summer. If you already have one there is no need to invest in another one. In fact I had more than one and I plan on using them all this summer.

4. Flats: I will be using the same pair of sandals I was using last summer because they are still selling them at Nordstrom and I love them.

Boy Meets Girl x Macy's Launch

Hi Ladies,

I am so excited to share my collaboration with BOY MEETS GIRL! Nothing makes me happier than working with brands that send a positive message!

L I V E    T O   I N S P I R E

I was so excited when Boy Meets Girl asked me to collaborate! This brand really speaks to me and inspires me to keep pushing! So of course when they asked me to go shopping for one of their pieces, I agreed! You know I love shopping, so I did just that!  I went to the Macy's website and ordered my LIVE TO INSPIRE cropped sweatshirt and then visited Macy's at Dadeland Mall and purchased my bomber jacket.

I am not going to lie! I have already used these a few times! So comfy and cute!

What (or who) inspires you?

I am daily inspired by those doing what they love. It can be a random person I meet that day, if you are doing something that makes you happy and that enriches your life, I am all about that. When it comes to blogging, I look for inspiration within the blogging community. It’s so fascinating to see other fellow bloggers create beautiful content, reach their audience, and achieve their goals.

Causes you advocate for?

Cancer awareness is so dear to my heart! Love organizations servicing cancer patients like the Make a Wish Foundation and Susan G. Komen.

What do you love about the state you live in?

Living in Miami, Florida is like living in an eternal paradise. What I love the most about living here, is being able to do outdoor activities all year round. A beach day, a bike ride, or a simple run in the park, just makes me so happy!

Are you excited for our Macy’s launch? Do you shop at Macy’s?

I am so excited to see Boy Meets Girl at Macy's in Dadeland Mall. I could not think of a better fit for this brand! This store is full of life and diversity, which is exactly what comes to mind when I think of BOY MEETS GIRL! Macy's has been my go to place for holiday shopping for years! They have something for every member of the family!

Hope you guys like it!

Corduroy Jumpsuit

Hello Ladies,

Today I am sharing all the details on the famous jumpsuit everyone has been loving on instagram

When I saw this jumpsuit the first thing on my mind was, my husband hates this color on me!  I have always been drawn to this mustard color, but Nels is not a big fan of it!  I made up every excuse on my mind not to get it, but after much back and forth, I hit the purchase bottom and the rest is history!

This was a big risk for me. You wouldn't normally see me wearing something so bold. I wasn't really sure how I was going to style it, but I knew I wanted something that felt like fall.

I stepped a little out of my comfort zone and loved the end result. And if you are wandering about Nels, he ended up loving how I styled it!

Here is some feedback on this jumpsuit: This is a corduroy fabric which is not really stretchy. The jumpsuit runs big, I got a size smaller than what I usually wear.

Hope you guys love it as much as I did.

Pumpkin Patchin'

Autumn brings along a season of gratitude, fun festivals and a whole lot of pumpkin!

There is something about fall that puts me in a really good mood. I can picture my self sitting by a wood burning fireplace, wearing a chunky knit sweater, pumpkin spice late in hand, while a cider wood candle burns on the background. I can literally smell this scent as I type it.

In Miami, fall looks a little different. Here, the days are filled with 80 degree weather. Most of the locals wear summer clothes, while they sip on a cold drink and are probably sitting somewhere by the water.  Regardless of the weather, we take the time to celebrate and create some of the most amazing memories of the season.

For the past 4 years I have been visiting Bedner's Farm Fresh Market for their fall festival, and it never disappoints. They have everything from pony rides, to food trucks, petting zoo, bounce houses, face painting, corn maze and of course, a huge pumpkin patch. Their festival takes place every weekend during the month of October at their Boyton Beach location. If you are from South Florida this is the place to go! I promise, you won't be disappointed.

We spent ours at the patch this weekend. Ate some yummy cider donuts and drank delicious freshly made lemonade.

Here's how to get this look !

High Waisted Pants: City Vibes

Hi Ladies,

As you might all know by now I visited NY a few weeks ago and I came back more inspired than ever! A little getaway to the city really recharges my batteries and inspires me to create beautiful looks!

New York is a dreamy place. Something about the city inspires me, makes me wants to pack my bags, grab my hubby (wouldn’t leave him behind) and chase my dreams at the big apple! But the truth is, I don’t think I can leave the beach behind!

So to get that NY feeling I headed downtown. Something about big concrete columns remind me of New York. This outfit gives me major city vibes.

These high waisted pants are a little out of my comfort zone, but I went for it and loved the end result. They are easy to style and very comfy! Paired them with a black tank top and low heel mules for a chick look!

Would you wear something like this? Give me your opinion guys!

Wedding Guest Outfit Ideas

Hi Ladies,

So happy to have you back! I recently got invited to a summer wedding and I wanted to share some of the options I considered. The final choice I will be showing you next week on my instagram.

I have never been much of an online shopper but I must tell you lately I have been giving online a chance. Two years ago I went to a wedding in New York.  I got my dress last minute at a local Macys and boy was that a bad idea! I ended up having the same dress as another wedding guest. I know, every girl's nightmare! What are the chances that someone from New York would have the same dress I bought in Miami?? Well, it happened to me!!!!  I mean we both had great style and made a joke about it all night long. But I am not going to lie, I was a little disappointed!

For me the most important thing a wedding guest should take into consideration are climate and location! An outdoor wedding has a different feel than an indoor wedding. I like to research the venue before to get a feel for the space.  Because this is a summer wedding I wanted something short and sexy but still elegant and classy! These were some of my choices!

Sexy and Flirty

This print gives the dress a summer feel while the colors make it easy to transition from the day festivities to the night.

Pretty in Pink

Lace details make it feminine and elegant at the same time. With the right accessories this dress can easily be dressed up.

Lady in Red

This dress is simple and romantic. he flowiness of this dress makes is the perfect summer wedding attire.

Blushing in Summer

Summer calls for pretty colors. This midi dress is elegant enough to go from an outdoor ceremony to an indoor reception.

So when invited to a summer wedding remember the dress doesn't necessarily has to be expensive, it just needs to fit the elements surrounding you! I have linked all the dresses here and as you can see most of them are pretty affordable. The dress I choose I did not include on here but I will share with you all soon!

5 Ways to Polish Your Outfit

Looking our best takes time and effort. Sometimes even when we try, we forget small details that make our outfits look unfinished and quite messy. I have put together the 5 things I do to make sure I always look well put together!

1. Do your nails: If your gel mani is coming off.. please take the time to remove it. Nothing looks messier than nails that are undone. I am a believer that a clear top coat looks better than chipping nail polish. Toe nails are non negotiable, you need to have them done!

2. Iron/steam your clothes: I used to be one of those people but I was probably in my early 20's then. Right now I do not go anywhere without steaming or ironing my outfit. Ironed clothes gives a high end finish to an outfit!

3. Use a lint roller: Nothing looks messier than an outfit full of small fiber or animal fur. I always make sure to use a lint roller specially if wearing black. Gives your outfit a cleaner look!

4. Apply lotion: I was always that girl who would go out without putting lotion on (embarrassing). Until I began to realize ashy elbows and knees are not cute!

5. Remove hair ties: I am still guilty of this. I have the habit of wearing a hair tie on my wrist! This makes my outfit look unfinished! If you are not going to exercise you should not wear your hair tie as an accessory. I have to keep reminding my self of this one!

Ps: I like to switch it up from time to time so here is a minimalistic look from early Spring!

Hope you guys enjoy it!!

Summer in Ruffle Sleeves

Hi ladies,

Hope you are having a great week! I am excited to share some new looks!

A girl's closet should be filled with statement pieces and a top with extravagant sleeves is one of them! The best part of a statement piece is that you can wear it with pretty much anything.

This look I shot in early Spring. I wanted to incorporate some more color to my wardrobe. This orange won me over! I still can't get enough of it.  If you have seen my instagram lately I have been working hard to stay away from black and white. Although those will for ever be my favs!

For this look I chose a skirt I already owned from forever21 and heels from Steve Madden! I accessorized with gold jewelry and the pretties choker from Taudrey

Create the look with similar items I have included below!

Hope you guys enjoy!

Destination Inspired Look

Hello Ladies!

Welcome back! It's almost the weekend!!!  I have so many great things going on this month, I am so happy it is finally here!!!! I am so excited it is my 28th birthday this Saturday!!!! Getting closer to 30 but I am feeling so blessed these days!  I am planning for some family time and maybe squeeze in a drink or two!!!! I will keep you updated on Instagram so make sure to follow me there!

With Cinco de Mayo tomorrow I thought it was the perfect time to talk about my obsession with outfits that make me feel like I am in a foreign country. I will show you more of my Mexican inspired outfit on Instagram tomorrow. (I have never been to Mexico, but it's on my list)... Maybe next year, who knows!

Lately, I have been shooting outfits that mentally transport me to other destinations... The idea of creating content that mixes style with my love for traveling makes me so happy. I have been exploring with this lately as I look for outfits and locations that have a feel for other countries. Like this little jumpsuit I shot a few weeks ago that mentally took me to my beautiful Cuba! Of course some things contributed to this, like the fact that this amazing car showed up in the middle of my shoot and I couldn't help but to use it as a prop. Wish I would of been able to drive it, but the owner would have probably died lol... He still doesn't know his beautiful car made it to my blog lol..... Have you ever tried on a piece of clothing and thought "oh this is so Hawaii or Miami, or Italy" for that matter. That's exactly what I felt when I tried on this jumpsuit! I immediately thought... Cuba!!! All I needed was a Cuban sombrero and a mojito!

I feel inspired to create looks that take me to new places, places I don't yet know but hope to do one day!

Hope you guys love it as much as I do!
